Description:

The Torry Point Battery, situated on the site of a 19th-century fort, was manned during the First World War. The original armament consisted of a pair of 6-inch guns, which were removed in 1934; within six years, however, the battery was re-armed with the same calibre of guns but it saw little action during the Second World War.

This image shows the battery and its supporting buildings, including the accommodation camp, observation tower and searchlight platforms. The guns were removed in 1956 and the battery has now been demolished.
