Description: The Burns family moved to a farm (shown just left-of-centre in this image) in Lochlea, near Tarbolton, where they lived between 1777 and 1784. It was during his time here that Robert Burns joined a Country Dancing School and formed the Tarbolton Bachelors' Club. He also wrote four songs, inspired by Alison Begbie, which were ultimately unsuccessful in his pursuit of her.
